Privacy Policy
Last updated October 2, 2026
WhoisFDE ("WhoisFDE", "we", "us", "our") is a sole proprietorship based in Canada, operating this website. This policy explains what information we collect when you use whoisfde.com, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.
Information we collect
We only collect what we need to run the site and respond to you. Specifically:
- Contact form: name, email, optional phone number, project type, and your message.
- Newsletter / sound library signup: your email address.
- Reviews: the name, role/company, project, rating, and text you choose to submit. Submitted reviews are held for our approval before they're shown publicly.
We don't run any analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts on this site, and we don't use tracking cookies. See our Cookies Policy for the full detail on what's stored locally in your browser.
How we use your information
- To reply to enquiries submitted through the contact form.
- To send the newsletter/updates you signed up for (you can unsubscribe at any time).
- To display reviews you've chosen to submit and had approved.
- To meet legal and accounting obligations (e.g. keeping records of sales).
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Who we share information with
We use a small number of service providers to run the site and business. Each only receives the information it needs to do its job:
- Supabase — hosts our database (form submissions, reviews, account records).
- Cloudinary — hosts and serves images/video on the site.
- Vercel — hosts the website itself.
- Resend — sends transactional emails (e.g. confirmations, replies to enquiries).
- ActiveCampaign — sends the newsletter to subscribers who opt in.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments; we don't allow them to use your data for their own purposes.
How long we keep information
We keep contact and newsletter records for as long as you remain subscribed or until you ask us to delete them, and invoice and payment records for as long as Canadian tax and accounting law requires.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA), you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that's inaccurate.
- Delete your information (unless we're required to keep it, e.g. for tax records).
- Unsubscribe from any marketing email — every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, or just email us.
To exercise any of these, email support@whoisfde.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
Children
This site is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
StemForge
StemForge, our stem separation app, now has its own site and its own privacy policy. If you bought or use StemForge, see getstemforge.com/privacy.
Changes to this policy
