We keep this simple because our actual footprint is small: whoisfde.com does not use cookies for advertising or tracking, and we don't run any analytics scripts. There's no cookie-consent banner on this site because nothing here requires your consent to function — everything we store is strictly necessary and stays on your device.

What we actually store

• Newsletter opt-in status (localStorage) — remembers that you've already signed up for the sound library newsletter, so we don't ask you again on repeat visits.
• Session data for private share links (sessionStorage) — if someone sends you a private delivery or idea-share link, this temporarily caches that it's been verified, for the duration of your browser session only.
• Theme preference — whether the site shows in light or dark mode, based on your system setting.

None of this identifies you personally, is shared with any third party, or is used to track you across other websites. You can clear it at any time through your browser's settings (clearing site data for whoisfde.com) without affecting your ability to use the site — you may just be asked to sign up for the newsletter again.

Embedded video

Where we embed YouTube videos, we use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which doesn't set tracking cookies unless you actively play the video, per YouTube's own settings.

Changes

If that ever changes — for example, if we add analytics in future — we'll update this page and add a proper consent banner before anything non-essential runs.
